Those Were the Days

Browsing through the rails of vintage clothing in the independent boutique Those Were the Days is comparable to turning through the pages of fashion history. Fifties floral prom dresses, colour block shifts from the sixties, seventies maxi dresses and oversized eighties sweatshirts, plus a sprinkling of pieces from the thirties and forties - every decade is eagerly acknowledged.

Unlike other vintage shops which may also stock a hodge-podge of second-hand clothing, Those Were the Days is strictly vintage. Sourced globally from afar as Miami and LA, you may be lucky enough to snap up pieces from illustrious labels including Ossie Clark, Biba and Mary Quant or revered fashion houses Chanel, Givenchy and Burberry. Each piece is lovingly restored before being added to the boutique's collection - you won't find any mothballs here.

To complement the whimsical dresses and lux furs, the boutique offers an array of ornate costume jewellery -  art deco pieces are displayed alongside lavish eighties and nineties Dior and Balmain. Tucked away towards the back of the boutique is a carefully curated bridal collection spanning the thirties to eighties - the dresses are romantically exquisite and perfect for those brides wanting something truly original for their big day.

Those Were The Days is situated at 26 St. Stephen Street, Stockbridge or visit their website here.
