Nosing around

At 7 o'clock last night, my boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to an impromptu dinner at The Roamin' Nose. I threw on my trusty geometric trousers from Zara and paired them with a burgundy and grey spotted knit (I do love a good print clash) and electric blue high heels from H&M.
Tucked away on a quiet residential street in the New Town, the bistro offers a cosy and somewhat quirky setting for an evening meal. Battered vintage suitcases, floral china and portraits of Bill Murray provide the décor. Mostly geared towards brunch and lunch, there is only a few select dishes available at night - but what they do have on the menu is excellent.

To start, we shared fresh bread with fig and apricot chutney, olive tapenade and baba ghanoush - all accompanied with a refreshing and luminous Aperol Spritz. The chef's Italian heritage was evident in the main courses - fettuccine with cream, gorgonzola and pecan nuts and fusilli with cherry tomatoes and aubergine. The al dente pasta was simple yet full of flavour and very reasonably priced at £8.00.

Have you tried The Roamin' Nose?
